| Fire Coral | Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller Since by default rthe Korallin reactor doesn't have a ph probe port, what's the best way to use a ph controller to control the solenoid? I can get a cap that does have a port if there is no alternative.

| Manta Ray | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller i drip it into a small plastic container and put my probe there. it runs about 1.0 higher than the actual output.

| Fire Coral | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller Duh, that's an easy solution. Thanks. What do you recommend setting the controller at with that method? 7.8 if it is 1 higher. Also what bubble rate do you run at for co2 and the output of the calcium reactor when using a controller?

| Manta Ray | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller i would just test and see if there is any difference then adjust on the safer side. monitors are about .5 difference anyway. i have a couple and right after calibration they still have about .5 diff in readings. both steady and accurate with calibration fluids before and after. but still the readings are up to 0.5 difference in tank readings.

| Fire Coral | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller What about the bubble rate of the CO2? With a solenoid, I would assume there's a best count to set it at, probably higher than without a controller? I guess the output is still in the 20-40 drops per minute.

| Over Achiever | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller I recently took my Korallin reactor off my tank, because it would get an air lock every 3-4 weeks and stop dripping. At any rate, I would suggest 6-10 bubbles/min at first with that drip rate. Follow for a couple of weeks and adjust if needed. |

| Manta Ray | Re: Korallin Calcium Reactor and PH Controller i had the same problem as scott. what fixed it for me was setting the drip to almost a stream and then adjusted the CO2 to bring the eff to a ph of about 6.5. then watch the Ca/Alk in the tank and adjust the the reactor from there. with the almost stream i have had no CO2 build up in the reactor. when my tank was lower on Ca/Alk the reactor was a PIA and always got that CO2 build up. but after adding many corals increasing the demand, the reactor has work great. i think the korallin is better suited for higher demanding tanks, JME.
