With regards to R/O-D/I water, do I still need to add dechlor or some other additive before adding it to SW tank as either topoff or replacement during water changes?

The carbon and sediment prefilters catch most of it the ro membrane removes all of whats left, the chlorine is what damages the membrane so keep up the carbon and sediment filter changes to prolong its life

Good advice SAS. I want to add to be sure and use the "flush valve" on your unit to keep the sediment build up minimal and also greatly extend your filter life.

On same topic.... what about trace minerals and other elements that we want to replenish with top offs. How much of that is removed via RO/DI ? I was thinking about this in the wee hours this morning.

All of those things are supposed to be in your salt mix, RODI just gives you the purest start.

Oh yeah... can I get a big old DUH from the crowd? It wouldn't be so BAD if I weren't in the middle of researching a new Salt Mix I even started a thread about it... Man I gotta wake up over here!!
