Re: VHO's

I'm a big fan of PC's. I've got four 65w PC's and two 150w MH's on my 75g and it's lit up like fourth of july! I have two daylight dual 10000k and two actinic/blue combo. Only thing is to replace the bulbs it's online or nothing around here. T5's are everywhere though. Something to think about.

Re: VHO's

Then go for it. You won't be disappointed with the light output. I still like MH for the stonies and nems though.

Re: VHO's

i am still debating vho's vs. pc's
48" 4 Lamp VHO Retro Kit w/Reflector* - AquaCave
vs.
48 inch 4x65 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Dual Satellite Fixture (Saltwater Aquarium Supplies > Lighting > Fixtures > Power Compact > 48in Units )
would both be intense enough for the stony's and anemones i want to get?

I really really think you'll be happier with PC or T5 output over VHO.

Re: VHO's

As for T5 and Pc, flip a coin, they're both awesome. go with what gives you the most output in watts for the space you've got, and the price you can afford. T5 or PC, they're both so good (sung to the beef-a-roni jingle LOL)

Re: VHO's

if you have enough of them, yes. Trust me they are very intense, more so than T5 IMO and I've had both. If you put four or six 65w bulbs over a 48" tank and have the right kelvin combos you'll love it. Get two 65w actinic/blue or dual actinic combos with two 6700/10000k combo and you're covered. Add two more dual 10000k's or higher and you can have most anything you want
