Red face Re: lighting reccomendations?

From the pics I see your tank is gonna need alot of upgrades before you buy any coral and you should have at minimum a year old tank for a anemone!

What kind or substrate do you have? before you get corals you'll want to get some carib sea live sand if you don't already have some.

Re: lighting reccomendations?

If you want to run a really successful reef you will need a refugium as filtration and a powerful protein skimmer. Anemones as you know can't handle nitrates and a refugium with mangroves and macro algae will keep nitrates in between 0-0.025 (You are gonna have really high maintenance if you only use a power filter). Make sure you have a lot of live sand and live rock.
(Remember with a reef tank the faster you go, the harder you crash)

Re: lighting reccomendations?

i think i will get VHO's
Aquadirect :: Lighting :: VHO Fluorescent :: ARO VHO Retros :: ARO 46.5" 4 Lamp VHO Retro Kit
i will put this retrofit in a canopy. any good diy self threads?
i've heard the vho's should be intense enough for hard corals and anemones.
