Re: Temp sensing triple fans?

Not a terrible price without the shipping costs I suppose, but, you could probably DIY it yourself for much less...the fans themselves run from $6 to about $12, depending on size and whether you want colored LED's in them...and a wall-wart adapter is pretty cheap as well...just add a bit of solder and heat shrink tubing, and you're set.

Re: Temp sensing triple fans?

I recently replaced the garbage fans that came with my JBJ lighting. I bought identically sized fans but the replacements are built with bearings instead of bushings, are quieter, have fairly high output, and should last longer. Like BoomerD said, with just a bit of soldering and some heat shrink tubing it's easy to either make your own or replace existing cooling systems. I searched around quite a bit and found that the best deals and selection were to be found at the cooler guys web site Fans Actually, now that I think of it, I believe I bought my fans from them through Amazon and got better shipping by a buck or two. One note, if you do it yourself be sure to get an appropriate sized transformer (AC/DC adapter) to power the fans because if the voltage or current output is too high the fans may run a bit fast and be loud. Good Luck!

How to wire a Computer fan???

I used the above computer fans until I got my icecap fans. They worked great and were quiet. I had them plugged into my controller which had a temp controlling option

Total costs was about $8-10 because I had to purchase 3 computer fans. I recommend using a 12 volt transformer instead of the 9 volt I used.

Re: Temp sensing triple fans?

Woodstock which controller do you have?

Actually I think I'm going to start another thread JUST about controllers..... Look for it and post it over there!

Frank I just ran across the link when on Ebay looking for a new tank. I just read about it and with a small price tag it just scored really HIGH on my cool meter!!
