| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | I saw on another thread where a similar question was posed but I didn't want to HiJack that thread (yeah I know, I usually do it anyway but I want to TRY something new). I have easy access (and CHEAP) to this light The Designers Edge Why don't we ever see/use Halogen lights in our hobby? I also have a 300 watt version at hand but it's also Halogen!!! Allen ![]()

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! ![]() Allen's testimonial . . ."Let Me help you help YOURSELF" (Click Here) Big Al's 10g Julie's (BigAl's Gal) 6g NanoCube Now in STORAGE and Dry-Docked BigAl's Slow 90g Tank Chronicle Allens OFFICE 12g Nano-Reef | |

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: Halogen Floodlight? Wrong color spectrums. MOST halogen bulbs are somewhere around 3800K, whereas most reefers want lighting at least 10,000K...those would make your tank look horribly yellow, and probably encourage nasty algae growth...however, they MIGHT be ok for refugium use...MAYBE...Plus, you'd have quite a bit of heat to deal with from those...(ever touch one after it's been on for a while?) just as bad as MH...
