can caulking be used in a saltwater aquarium to seal cracks in equipment or does it have to be silicone?

it is a cured caulking that resist surface mold and mildew

DON'T USE IT!! It has an algaecide in it that will kill your Reef...

DaBird is quite correct. Do not use such a product.

Also, make sure you use aquarium grade silicone. Some types of silicone also contain chemicals to reduce mold and mildew. These products should also be avoided.

thanks i will look for silicone without the mold or mildew chemical. (aquarium grade)

The tube should say 100% silastic silicone and/or aquarium safe.
