Chiller question

Does anybody have any information on this chiller?
Current USA Prime Tower Chiller, 1/4hp Model #2645

I am interested in getting it but I am limited on my space, I could put it behind the tank, but it would be tight to the wall. I could put it next to the tank but I am wondering if it is loud, or is it like a fridge starting? Any help would be great.

Re: Chiller question

I have the JBJ Artica Chiller 1/4 HP with my 90 gallon Oceanic Tech tank. If you are concerned about noise, this unit is extremely quiet. I have it in my family room. The temperature is set at 80 degrees. When it gets to 81 degress, the unit kicks on until it gets down to 79 degrees. Works extremely well, and it has a 2 year warranty. Another member recommended it to me three months ago, and I am extremely satisfied with this chiller. Highly recommended!!!!

Re: Chiller question

I have a 1/4 hp Pacific Coast and love it. Very quiet but it does put off quite a bit of heat. Once we moved it into the open it got a lot better.

Re: Chiller question

Well I am going to pick up my chiller this weekend. My tank really needs it so I am excited. I also ordered a mag 5 to run it. the min is 300 GPH and the max is 600 GPH so 500 sounds good to me. also on the way is Three clams. A gold rim tang, a fox face and a Lunar wrasse.

Re: Chiller question

You want to make sure that the chiller can cool the water running through it. You don't want the water to move through the chiller very quickly. Otherwise, it will run much longer. Just my opinion.
