| Midas Blenny | skimmer question ???? I want all my equipment out of the way, under my stand. Im going with a 180 gallon 72 x 48 x 48. It seems as though the bigger skimmers wont fit under my stand. I was told the fission model 8103 will do the job. and still fit in my proclear proflex 300 refugium .. any thoughts ???? |

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: skimmer question ???? Would that tank be 72 X 24 X 24? That's 180...the dimensions you give (72 x 48 x 48) would be 720 gallons. How much height do you have under the stand? Most skimmers for a 180 will require at least 24", and 30-36 would be better.

| Midas Blenny | Re: skimmer question ???? sorry initial dementions were incorrect its 180 72 x 24 x 24. the height is 26 the skimmer i am looking at is 21 so when in my refugium it will still fit, i just want it to be enough skimmerbut im not sure if it is. the spec says it will handle 220 gallons. I dont have room to put it outside my stand so im not sure what to do the larger ones i have seen are too tall. also i have room in my sump can i run an additional skimmer of the same size to make up the difference if i cant find one to suit my needs and still fit under my stand? |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: skimmer question ???? The ASM G4 is a great skimmer and 24in tall so it would fit. The ASM G series is a very good skimmer for the price. $340.00 at Premium Aquatics one of our sponsors.

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: skimmer question ???? Make sure it will fit under the cabinet in the sump Just because you have 26 inches of clearance doesn't always mean you have enough room for a 24 inch skimmer once it is in the sump. ![]() But if it does fit, that would be a better choice than the fission.
