| Tuxedo Urchin | power head So i have one power head. placed at and angle mid level of tank so it kind of hits a lot of my coral. I was thinking about getting another one. to put one at the bottom and a new one at the top. For the new one i was thinking about getting a power head that has a nozel that looks to have a motor in it that makes it move from left to right distributing water movement in different directions. Has anyone used one of these new power heads. do they really work. dont want to go over kill on the current but as i have heard from one of my previous post is that it could help with rid my tank of my red algae. |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: power head Adding more flow is a good thing as long as your corals aren't being blown too hard. I have two korallia power heads that are at opposite ends of the tank and aimed at eachaother. They provide a lot of water movement. I have never tried a rotating powerhead...

| Serpent Star | Re: power head I used to have a PH that swept back and forth but eventually it stopped by coralline algae that grew in the mechanism. Before the algae, it was sticking somewhat but that was after 6-9 months. I'd recommend keeping the mechanism free of any obstructions with frequent cleaning.
