Are these bulbs any good?

Need to buy bulbs soon and I found these on line. Anyone know or try these bulbs. The price is sweet but I hate buying junk cause it is cheap.

I've never tried em. Did you try a google search on them? I'm always wary of cheap bulbs.

Re: Are these bulbs any good?

I can't speak for the bulb in question.

I will say this. Their web pages don't work correctly with my browser(Firefox), and the prices are way too good to be true. Also the registration page isn't a secure web page.

That's three red flags against them. I'd avoid them myself.

I wouldn't go with unknowns. Best case scenerio is that you get lucky and that it works with your present ballast. Worst case scenerio is that you wind up with a fire. If both the bulb and ballast have ignitors, watch out!

I am personally a huge fan of XM10K bulbs,.. the plots on them are very good, and the PAR output of them is second to none, they also seem to last forever,.. you might want to think about picking up some of them.

I'm using the 10K 175W plusrite bulb that they sell. It's been in for 6 months with absolutely no problems. Color is just as good as what I see anywhere else. Corals are growing great. Just my 2C, good luck!

I'll definately agree with this. I also had great results with coralvue and AB bulbs. XM 10k's I would say is the best bang for the buck if you are looking for par per dollar spent (other than iwasaki's).
