Its all good! I love fuges! I think they are one of the coolest things! How many gallons is yours?

Tank is only 10g and the fug is a HOB so I would guess it's like 1-3 at the most...

Nawww it's off of Ebay... "some assembly required" but the price is SWEET!!

Ok here is what I did.... I ended up digging through my closet of "goodies" and found my origianl PErfecto flourescent hood from when I first set my tank up. IT fits perfectly onto the top of my FUGE ( I mean literally the length and width couldn't be much better. But I am wondering if that bulb is giving the "proper" light for the Cheato to grow to it's potential. Any ideas?

also while searching through the store I work for (Building Supply Company) we just TODAY got some Reflector Bulbs that are literally the CP bulbs inside of them. Below are the specs I can find but I can NOT find the actual "TemP' of the bulbs (i.e. 5100k, 6500k, etc)

EcoBulb by Feit
65 Watt replacement at 15 watts
630 lumens
8000 hr life

If the packaging does NOT list the temp how to I find it? Am I just over looking it? Is it there and I am reading it as something else?

I think the flourescent hood would be just fine for a fuge. Not sure about the other though.

There should be an 800 number on the back of the package to get ahold of the manufacturer. Just call the number and ask what the K is.

I called the # and the recording gave an email to send to (kind of going in circles) but none the less I got the reply this morning

That's not going to do well with the macro. 5100-6700K is what I've seen give the best results.

Thanks KB! WE have an "assortment" of new bulbs coming in to us in a few weeks and maybe we'll have more choices that will fit this need. I appreciate your input!!

I dont know if you found any bulbs but if you go to lowes, they carry a CF bulb by Sylvania. Its in a green package with pictures of spindles of thread on the front. Its like 7 bucks and it is 5000K. Also if you go to Home Depot you can pick up the Generic blue package of CF bulbs. They are 5500k and are also like 7 bucks. Hope this helps.

Thanks evallarta1 for the information. I should have come back and posted my update in this thread. I ended up realizing I had a left over PetCo hood for a 10g tank. It fits perfectly over the top of my cutom made refugium and thus far seems to give GREAT growing light.

Again thanks for your information as I will probably need it in the future.
