| Majano Slayer | Re: **Neptune AquaController** Here's the link again... Wireless Aquacontroller Jr Serial Connection I have it set up so I can access it over the web, but my desktop PC has to be on. It would be an advantage to have the internal webserver. Another benefit of the PRO is it can measure DO and conductivity.

| Sea Pen | Re: **Neptune AquaController** Cool. With the ACIII, all I would have to do is connect a wireless router to the unit to connect to my network right?

| Majano Slayer | Re: **Neptune AquaController** Yes, it doesn't have internal wireless, so you need a wireless access point for it.

| King of all I survey | Re: **Neptune AquaController** I get an ocassional flicker of my sump lights when they should remain off - there's an amps limit on the DC's. You might want to go with the DC4HD for that reason.

| Sea Pen | Re: **Neptune AquaController** OK, so the ACIII will be connected to a router. However, my internet (DSL) is connected to a router upstairs in a totally seperate location. How can I make this all work? Thanks for bearing with me...I've totally confused myself.

| King of all I survey | Re: **Neptune AquaController** What you need to get is a wireless access point, not a router. This is a device which allows a single ethernet device (the AC unit) to be connected to a wireless LAN. You connect it to your PC, set it up, then put it in your cabinet with your AC unit connected to it, and it's then viewable on the network. I can go into more details if needed - I just set mine up this way.

| Sea Pen | Re: **Neptune AquaController** Mike, Much appreciated! I'm usually pretty tech savvy, but all this reading about controllers has my head swimming. That makes good sense. I'm sure once I finally decide to buy it, I'll need some help setting it up, so I'll be hitting you up. One more question...with the ACIII, do you still need the serial cable to program if you get the WAP and network it, or can the programming be done from the web interface?

| King of all I survey | Re: **Neptune AquaController** You can do all programming through the web interface - I don't have and don't use a serial cable. It's really easy. There are some differences from the manual in terms of programming, but it's really easy.

| Reef Lobster | Re: **Neptune AquaController** instead of getting the DC4HD you may just want to look into the 120 volt socket expansion for the AC Jr. I have and and while I haven't used it yet am pretty cofident that it will do what I need. You do lose socket on the DC8 but it's supposed to help on energy pigs like MH bulbs. The downside is while you can program that socket BOTH sockets on the expansion will run on what you program. My suggestion is to put a main thermometer on it and have a backup for when it shuts down.

| Tunicate | Re: **Neptune AquaController** Chris: I do that to update the operating system on the controller, but since my original post I got the ACIII and now use the wireless ethernet network I have in the house to access the controller. I feel really spoiled becuase it makes tweaking the programs and looking at the graphs soooo easy. David
