Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Only the DC8 (Direct Connect - 8 outlets) powerstrip is available with the ACjr at a discounted price. If you want an additional DC4, you would have to purchase that one at regular price. Both of these hook up via a phone cord (not through your house phone line, they are directly connected to each other with a cord). If you had two powerstrips, you would run a cord from the ACjr to the first one, and another line from the first one to the second one.

And thanks for the comment on the cabinet!

Digital Aquatics 2008 - ReefKeeper Elite

This thing looks pretty cool too, and appears to be much cheaper.

I paid about $200 less than that for my ACjr setup...

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

I will help however I can. I can meet you in chat some time soon if you like or you could give me a call (PM on the way). I don't have the full Aquanotes though, just the Lite version. I prefer to do most of my programming directly on the ACjr.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

I've been working on this, it's not all together like this in the ACjr manual. Please let me know if anyone sees mistakes or anything that needs to be added...

I couldn't get it into a file small enough to attach, but I'd be glad to send the original excel file to anyone who wants it. Is there any way to upload that here?

Tony,
Check out this site. It has tons of info and even compares the models using an Excel spreadsheet.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Just to let you guys know I finally came to a much debated conclusion. I'm going with the reefkeeper jr. While I know most of you are neptune fans and they both have allot of features, (most of which I don't understand) I like the diversity of the reefkeeper. Don't think I'm going to get the PH probe with it though...I don't understnad the differences in calibration liquids (ie ph 4.0 to ph 7.0) I can always do that test manually for now. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Sarah - I usually leave the probe in each calibration fluid for just a few minutes. I also dip the probe in ro/di water then shake it off between the two fluids to help keep cross contamination to a minimum.
After you calibrate it, put it in each calibration fluid to see how close it comes.

Thelastmucci - calibrating the ph probe is very easy. You'll really like having the probe.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

just to let you know...I messed up in my previous post...I am getting a neptune..I thought the ACJR was another brand. I also put the ph probe with the two solutions in my shopping cart.

Also if someone could clairify..the ph 4.0 is for getting the probe to read the low end of the ph spectrum while the 7.0 is for getting it to read the high end. Is this correct???

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

You want to buy 7.0 and 10.0, you don't need the 4.0.

4 and 7 would be more suitable for freshwater, but since you will be around 8.3 pH, you want to calibrate above and below that at 7 and 10.
