Well, I don't have any experience with it and I would hate for her to go buy it and then it didn't work. In theory, it should work just fine.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Tomorrow is going to be a BIG day in controller land. Getting the lights all hooked up, finish hooking up the pumps, and getting the troublesome PH electrode fired up and working.

Oh yeah, and flushing the toilets on the ISS...

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Al, at 12:32 tomorrow afternoon, go outside and look up. I'll see if I can make a comet shower from the testing I'm going to do with the toilets. If you feel moisture on your face though, I'd recommend going back inside.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

*LOL* Now that worries me... actually the "moisture" wouldn't bother me as bad as the falling "Heath Bars" would

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

As far as wireless ethernet...

I gave up on trying to use a wireless hub years ago. I had the hub in our basement. I'd be in the bedroom with a laptop, directly above the hub, not more then 15' away, no signal...

Wireless hubs absolutely, positively will not work in my house for some reason...

NASA has your house "blocked" from wireless in an attempt to save the ISS

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

I heard back from Neptune about using the X10. Here's what they had to say:

I don't recommend X10 for new customers anymore as the direct connect boxes are much more reliable. If you want to use X10, then you'll need 1 control interface (PL513) to put the commands on your homes powerlines, and 1 control module (AM466 typically), for each device you wish to turn on/off independtly. Also it is likely cheaper to buy the Jr. w/ a DC8, than to buy an Jr w/ control interface and 8 control modules.

I will stick with using the DC8(s). Here's the next silly question. The DC8 has eight plugs. My lights/moonlights have four plugs, so that uses up four sockets of the unit already. Do I need to buy as many DC8's as plugs that I have to plug in?

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

i use a good quaity extenstion cord and plug my fans into it, also another cord for my two moonlights then plug that into the DC8. i do this with anything i can. as long as the draw is below the outlets rating, amp/volt wise its all good i have another one i use, my sump light and fan. just on these i save 3 out of 6 controlled outlets.

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Determine what you want the ability to control and then use the plugs for that. My sump pumps are not plugged into the controller, they are on a power strip that anyone can shut down by pressing a single switch. You could probably plug the powerstrip into the controller if you wanted to. My MH lights are controlled with my Reefkeeper. I think if I plugged everything into the same controller I would max out.
