Re: **Neptune AquaController**

yup, you can control it from a PC.

here is a link to the aqua Jr, it has the controller options for hardwire(DC8) or 10x control AquaController Jr

here is quote for part of it, it has the part numbers if you need them

Quote:
For X10 control, the AquaController sends a digital signal to the control interface (part number IM513) which places a small RF signal onto the powerlines in your home. The control modules (typically part number CM466) receive this X10 signal over the power lines, and if the code matches the user settable address the module is turned on or off. Up to 12 control modules can be controlled with the AquaController Jr.

Okay! Okay, okay, okay!! I'll take a another tank! I think I said I'm already thinking of what I can put in the basement on the wall behind where the equipment room is. John and I were in an LFS last weekend and I was browsing around, then found him looking at a 200g tank. I said "that will look great along the wall in the basement" and he just laughed. Hmmm?

And, I'm already thinking.... wouldn't a tank with 'horses and pipefish be great? A tank for just this, or that?

Yep... I can see me needing all of these things but the chiller. I have two ph's, and I know I'll be setting up Ca+ reactor or kalk reactor, just haven't decided yet.... although Heinz's Balling Method looks darn good, too.

It'll have to be a Guinness sign, because this whole thing is BRILLIANT!

Not really, unless you can find that Holy Grail of seahorses keepers, the captive bred pipe fish supplier.

It is not a good idea to mix captive bred seahorses and wild caught pipe fish. And you don't even want to consider buying wild caught seahorses to try and make that work either.

Oh, so I need a 'horse tank AND a pipefish tank. I can do that!

I'm not serious <yet> about doing this. I have to get my first tank set up! If I ever DO decide to do something like this, I would be researching the heck out of it first, so no worries, Matt!

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Well, yes you can.

I like to get pieces in a bit at a time and then put them in ACTION before ordering the next piece, unless they all work together that is. A big part of my controller pieces came all at once and, to tell you the truth, it was very intimidating until I separated them out by function. Then my head stopped swimming and I could focus on that one thing.

Yeah but your controller will also be controlling the International Space Station in addition to your tanks

Houston... something's wrong up here.. our toilets seem to be on some kind of "schedule" or something... they only come on for about 10 - 12 hours a day... almost in direct synch with the sun rise and set.... Can yall see if Terry has been screwing around with his CONTROLLER again?"

Re: **Neptune AquaController**

Oh sure, now you guys come and visit! Leave me alone to figure this out, lurking, hiding, waiting, watching...then I go to work and you guys have had fun all day! So not fair!

BigAl - I can't believe you already experienced this! Post your problems man!

Barb - There are always things that need plugging in that you don't even think of. I have 24 things plugged in! To my surprise, the controller unit itself had to be plugged in (anyway the ACjr does). I wasn't expecting that (my Reefkeeper doesn't have a separate plug for the controller). Then you have to plug in the computer. Oh, and you will want to buy more toys for the tank too - they all need plugs. My controller isn't wireless and I wish it was. Also, you will want to have the ability to have the computer in one location and the controller in the other so you can control it from either location. You will definitely need to make a really nice dinner (at my place)!
