| Midas Blenny | Actinic blues vs. whites Hey all i just bought an actinic blue light fixture that will replace my old white one....do these actinic blues have any upsides to them over the whites??? I really enjoy the different color but is there any other benefits separate from them than the whites?? Thanks a lot! |

__________________ 265 Gallon Reef built into basement wall. Lighting = 6x250 watts MH, 2x96 watt PC ,and 2x140 watt VHO for a total watt of 1,972 watts . New addition on 4-14-07 of 100 gallon sump and 100 gallon refugium. I think I have lost my mind. Gotta love this hobby VickiLife is like a pathway of untrodden snow. | Midas Blenny | Re: Actinic blues vs. whites Well, i guess i never thought of it like that....i have a 20 gallon as my holding tank for my fish and rock until i fix my 55. The light in the 20 is about 2 years old (Used to be my freshwater tank light) and i got a blue 1 for it today ..looked neat... |

| Sunshine Reefer | Re: Actinic blues vs. whites Most people run a combination of blue and one of the higher kelvin rated bulbs. That seems to give the combination of growth and nice color.
