96w Coral Life Pc.. 10k To 14k??

i have the coralife 96watt PC over my tank. currently im runnik a combo quad w/ 10k daylight and 50/50 true ac.

the 10k is ok, but i was thinking that the higher spectrum has more blue, and would bring out the colors of all my corals better.

so 2 questions.

1, am i right in that assumption?
2, can i get a 14K quad bulb for my fixture??

First, a 14K bulb will look bluer than a 10k bulb, but the trade off is par, the higher the k value usually the lower the par, but not always ... as far as can you get one for your fixture? I dunno, I don't use PC's.

I'm lookin for a new bulb for mine, have you tried just daylight or are you sold on 50/50's? I can't make up my mind, seems like the day would be better for my up and coming corals. You have the 18 inch bulbs right?

I never liked the look of my PC and to solve that upped k too. I later found, after switching to T5 That I went to high in k, what was really lacking was pink.

So I would recomend Pink and T5s.

I have the same fixture and always loved the 50/50 color (over my 30 cube fuge). I don't think that there is a 14K Quad bulb. However, I think the 50/50 Quad very close to 14K color.

You may try a different brand of Quad bulb. With my nano, I find that JBJ 50/50 18W bulbs are much bluer than the coralife 50/50 18W bulbs. You can also add an inexpensive T5 fixture with an actinic bulb for more blue.
