| Acropora ![]() | Re: Custom built sumps I got prices from 3 sump builders before I decided to do it myself with a 40 gallon breeder. I couldnt be happier with my sump especially the amount of $$$ I saved. Prices ranged from $200 -$700 for what I wanted.... here are the 3 guys I talked to : Steve at http://www.acrylicman.com/ $200 + shipping about $50 Jeff at http://www.lifereef.com/frame.html $700 + off the hook shipping charges and Doss at http://www.acrylicsumps.com/ $300 + shipping $50 LifeReef was by far the most expenisve but he was also the most comprehensive, helpful and diligent Jeff actualy spent the time with me on the phone going over what would work and what wouldnt... All three were nice guys and and will build anything you want In the end the DIY route saved me a ton of money, gave me a bigger sump than I wouldve had made, saved me shipping charges and gave me a fun weekend project

| Cabbage Leather | Re: Custom built sumps Melev certainly has great designs.... but as Billy said. we built an acrylic tank to hold 65 gallons with 1/4". so, I say build it yourself!! find an acrylic (plastics) dealer near you and spend around 135 for a 1/4" 8X4 sheet (they may even cut it for you) some weld-on 4 & 16... do some research and make exactly waht you want!! good luck!
