Re: What skimmer should I buy?

In sump ASM all the way. I just upgraded mine I like it that much.
Hang on Aqua c remora gets good reviews but I have never had one.

Check our sponsors for either. The prices on-line are generally a lot better than at the lfs and we have lots with great prices not to mention customer service.

Re: What skimmer should I buy?

The Ramora's are good skimmer but a little to small for a 78, I would go with a sump unit on anything larger than 55 gallons, plus if you add a 20 gal sump it will also give you additional water volume and a place for you skimmer, heater etc. and a place to put some LR, macro algae, sand etc. all of which will help increase bio filtration and a safe place to let your pods breed.

Re: What skimmer should I buy?

when you get it.... expect a day or 2 with out skimmage...

the collection cup is eazly set by hight, (rubber band)

the higher it is, the dryer and longer It will take 2 fill, lower will give you a wet not so dark skinmate..

you can put a rio (something) pump on there if you want to get a little more outta it.....

besides that its pritty much fail proof. If you put your hand in the tank it will stop skimming for a while.....

theres a little brush that comes with it to clean the hole out (jet)

post pic's I know you will love it...
