Anyone try these??? The price makes me want to give them a shot.

They are selling those bulbs at wholesale. At the store that I used to work at that is how much they are. They must have bought too many and want to get rid of them. I would say go for it but first get a brand name.

OK... here's what I found out.

The bulbs brand name is Plus Rite.

Here's a response from an Ebay member who purchased them and was nice enough to respond to my email.

"they were 250w 20000k and 175w 14000k Plus Rite mogul Bulbs. Have had no probs with them good coral growth"

The Ebay seller lights64 is actually a lightbulb distributor in Chicago called Kennedy Webster Electric. They also responded quickly to my email and say they have had excellent feedback from Reefers that have purchased their bulbs!

Someone else from Ebay that purchased these lights just responded... here's what he says about these bulbs.

I still have about 6 months of life left on my 10,000k hamiltons... but at $30 bucks delivered, I'm thinking about getting them. I'm starting to grow fonder of the blueish 14,000k look.

Let's see what they look like... can't wait for the pics!

that response sounds canned, no offense. it's likely the seller on an alternate email address. there's no way to verify that the pictures/tank he's sending you are actually using those bulbs, either.

am i cynical about ebay? heck yes. i've had so many people try to rip me off on there. it's not uncommon for people to set up multiple accounts and "buy" things from themselves, and leave themselves feedback on crap to give a false sense of security to potential customers.

i know my LFS bought some ebay bulbs and they were absolute junk. looked great, but turned all the sps brown.

you get what you pay for with MH bulbs, and on ebay if it sounds too good to be true, 99.9% of the time, it is.

let me check and see if these are the kind he had. i should hear back later today.
