I had the police come knocking on my door once
my other hobby is Bonsai, they saw the bright MH reflector with plants under it thru the window and wanted to investigate. funny thing is that some Bonsai (acer palmatum) have leaves that look strikingly similar to cannibis

Take a look at the ReefMax bulbs if you get a chance.

www.ReefMax.com

I've had a ton of good feedback on them. Plus brand bulbs had a rep of being yellow but they may have fixed that.

The ReefMax bulbs aren't quite as cheap but I feel they are a quality bulb at a good price.

Also... they sell a multitude of lightbulbs... from movie projector bulbs to aircraft bulbs. The aquarium metal halides are a tiny part of what they sell. When I emailed the company asking about their metal halides, they had to ask me for what application I was interested in... they sell metal halides for all kinds of uses.

Now as far as the bulbs go... I can't say... I haven't tried them yet. I'm still waiting for pics from the guy who bought them. I'll post them if he sends them.
JFK_Jr- I have to say it... YOU ROCK! Do you know their firstborn's name? Awesome research!! karma to you...

Re: 250W 10K bulb $23.99 WHAT!!!!

I actually just bought a 250w 14k DE HQI bulb from the same guy on ebay. It came in last night. The brand is indeed PlusRite. I'll post the exact model number later tonight when i get home from work. Still waiting on my icecap ballast to come in, but when it does I'll post my review and some pics of the bulb in action.
