Question Submersible LED Help?

Since it is going to be a while before I have the money I need for the lighting system I want.. what do you all think of this for a temporary LED lighting fix?

Fully waterproof for submersible or external use.
Mounting clips with suction cups included.
Two prong plug.
Solid construction
Complete and ready to use.

Dimension: 45" x 1 1/4"D, w/ 35 x LEDs bulit in. and a 6' power cord
Feedback please on the idea of this and ProAquatica?

Looks kinda cool, but I really have no idea if they are any good. The moonlights IMO are really just for your nightime viewing of the tank so I would probably just wait for the lights you really want.

Re: Submersible LED Help?

2 things i dont like about it.

first, astetics. the LEDs are to close together and i thing to many.

second, safety. it says submersible and yet its not grounded. this could be very dangerous.

Re: Submersible LED Help?

I think from the two prong plug. Isn't the third prong the ground?
That's what I thought anyway, but electrical is not my thing.

Re: Submersible LED Help?

i purchased those LED tubes.. I put it in and it is an awesome glow at night.. but my LTA would move into the rocks so out of the tank it went.. But it gave a nice light.. I also had it on a dimmer to control the intensity..

Re: Submersible LED Help?

Anyone else have any input on these? I think this would look really COOL if you could mount it in a way to be hidden... say behind the front edge of the tank pointing down and back.

Re: Submersible LED Help?

On the grounding problem the third prong is only used if the wattage is high enough to surge. One of the two prongs is a ground (neutural) so i dont see that causing a problem unless the wires where to become uninsulated and touch each other than it would just pop the breaker of the fuse that depends on what type of circuit breaker you have there would be little electricity in the water but maybe enough to cook some fish but iam not sure the wattage used on the lights but leds require verry little voltage to power up

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!
