Anyways, if you want individual parts of the box in black I can do that, but it will be out of Black Acrylic because I cant get the Lexan in black, where im getting it from does not use the black, only the clear. If it needs to be all black I can probably do that too, but the entire thing will be out of Acrylic. Just let me know what you need either thru PM of on here and I will see what we can do.

Re: Looking for an overflow?

I made my first frag rack, it turned out really nicely. Also, I got an idea about a box, almost like a surface viewer box, but for a camera. Its deeper (6 inches deep) and has an extended back plate to support your camera. This sounds off, pics will be up tomorrow and it will make perfect sense. Its used to take pictures of corals from the top down because it gives you the ability to break the surface of the water to take the shots.

Lexan is more expensive than acrylic, but I have a pretty nice connection at a place that uses a huge amount of it and can get it at a really reduced price.

As for the teeth, either a router is used or I have my grandfather take it to his mill and cut the teeth out of it. How he does it I am not sure, but next time I see him I will ask him.

Re: Looking for an overflow?

I built some over flow boxes, like the CPR brand,a while back and used a router to trim the edges, but every time I've tried to cut out the teeth,I ended up breaking some of the teeth,I think there is some sort of a jig of guide thats used for that

Re: Looking for an overflow?

Here is the camera box and frag rack that I was talking about.

holes can be drilled in the frag rack in any size to accomodate frag plugs or airline for mounting frags, either one you want just tell me with the order and they will be there.

Re: Looking for an overflow?

Alright, I had a pretty productive day, and was able to get 1ofManyNguyens' frag rack done today, figured I would post a few pics of my handy work. I say handy work because drilling one of the last few holes the bit managed to get stuck, I was just going to fast I think, and the drill whipped around and I think may have broke my friggin hand, that wont be happening again. We arent doing anything about it tonight, just waiting to see what its like in the am. Anyways, here are the pics.

let me know what everyone things. Most of the frag plugs I was able to find online either run 3/8" or 1/2" so the holes in it are 1/2" but I could go bigger or smaller, would just have to get a different bit

It seems to be fine as a little time goes by, even if it was broke it would not be the first time, this would be like number 14 or 15 for the bone breaking court

Re: Looking for an overflow?

Hey, I'm looking to get a constant water level in my tank, so I'd like 1 or 2 overflow boxes. I don't want to permanently silicone or otherwise attach them to my tank, so I'd like to just drill the back of the overflow and use a bulkhead to attach it. Do you have the tools to drill a hole in the back of the overflow large enough to fit a 1" bulkhead?

I can get actual bulkhead & overflow measurements, but this is a sticking point right now.

Approximate measurements: depthxWxH = 4"x10"x8"

Thanks

Edit, btw, I'd want it to be 4 sided.
