Re: Anyone need anything made out of pyrex?

My fish have also learned to "Feed from the dropper". Some TOO Much so. My Neon Goby (thin slender fish) tries to swim INTO the tip to be a total PIG!

Take your time... but I'm ANXIOUS to see what you do with my Reef Balls

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

I'm going to want a feeder at some point (when i have $$$ again). But I do have a hint for you on the frozen cubes. I pop them out into ziploc freezer bag I keep for the purpose (a couple weeks worth at a time), then when I need to feed, I hit them (through the bag, on the counter top) with the back-side (convex) of a tablespoon. After a few whacks they typically split into halves or thereabouts. The gel-bound stuff doesn't work so well though...

Re: Anyone need anything made out of pyrex?

Sent you a PM mothergoose.

Bigal I am getting closer to the reef balls in your pic. I got one in the kiln right now so its sitting at around 1030 degrees so I won't be able to sandblast it till the morning. So look for a pic tommorrow. I think the next one I should be able to get spot on. I still have a couple other methods I want to try but I wasted so much time on the chaeto refuge today.

I actually gave up on the in tank pyrex chaeto refuge. Gonna swallow my pride and make it out of PVC which will take about 5 minutes. I spent 2 hours of misery trying to make it out of one piece of solid glass.

BigJay! I'm thrilled you're working on this! I can't wait to see pics!!

Don't beat yourself up over the Chaeto refuge. It will happen one way or another.. regardless of the way we NEED PICS

The small one is 2" x 2" and is going in my tank.
Like the other stuff if you want one I can build it to the size you want and the hole layout/hole size that suit your needs. I figure I can do these for about 15-30 dollars depending on the size and number of holes. Bigal if you wanna demo one of these PM the size of the ball, number of holes and how big you'd like them along with your address.

Don't forget I'll take frags or supplies in trade.
DOOD! Those are SWEET!! You have (2) PMs... be sure to read the one labeled (2)

Re: Anyone need anything made out of pyrex?

this is a little closer to the reef balls. Its about 3.25" at the widest point and 2.5" 's tall. The flare on the bottom should keep anything from toppling them.

Re: Anyone need anything made out of pyrex?

Bigal I will probably be sending you out a package this week. I'd like to get some long term feedback on how they work out and with it in your hand what you'd like to see done differently.

Re: Anyone need anything made out of pyrex?

They're here, they're here my feeding tubes are here!!!! They are heavier than I expected but they look awsome. Can't wait to try them. I just fed last night but I think the Sun Coral could use a little snack. Won't even have to get my hands wet to feed him. SUPER SWEET.
Thanks BigJay for the stirrer I'm sure it will get plenty of use. The check went out Tuesday morning so you should have it by tomorrow.
Thanks again!!!
