Electrical Panel

Since adding my sump last month I got really tired of unplugging & plugging my return pump to do feeding. So I started thinking about adding a switch in-line. And as long as I was adding a switch I saw these awesome digital timers at Home Depot and just had to incorporate them. And why not get rid of the power strip completely and add a bunch of three prong outlets. Well, here are the results.

Reef geek, Isn't it funny how all you want to do is go to the hardware store for one piece of pipe, "just one" and you come home with a closed loop system. I like the way the timers fit into an elec. outlet box. where they expensive?

Lmao!!!!! Banned from the stores we love.... Damn!!!!! Teri Just rolls her eyes everytime I get that glazed over look.
Wow! $35. thats not bad at all. I bought a timer for the front porch light but it was this crank type timer and it didn't last very long. I'm going to have to get a couple of those

Thanks for the comments.
It was funny cause I was standing in front of all the electrical stuff at HD when the guy came up to me and said, "Hey Justin, you've got that look on your face again. You're planning the project right now in your head arent you." He was right.

Thanks all for the comments. One problem though. The GFI ships tripped, and I plugged it in to reset it and test it out before installing it. It wont reset. I screwed up some wiring somewhere, gotta tear it apart and ohm everything out. Merry Christmas

I dont know exactly, but definately less than $70. The timers were the most expensive at $30 each. I could have gone with regular appliance timers and kept it under $30. But come on, they're digital. Digital = Cool Factor!!

No, the timers only support 7 on/off times, so they are mostly suited to lighting.
Update: I stated earlier that I was having problems with the GFI, well I called it a night shortly after I ran into the problem and thought about it through the night. Came back the next day, and pushed the reset switch again and it worked perfectly. Tested and reset it a couple more times and everything worked as expected. Pulled out the trusty multimeter to test my switch and the light timers, which came out as expected. Set the timers and then screwed it in place. Working great!! The wife especially enjoys the feeding switch.
