| Star Polyps | Wooddood, I would like to see the pics of your in wall tank. I wanted to put our 180 into a partition wall that separates the living room from the kitchen, that would have given us 3 sided views. Teri played around with the camera and super imposed a pic of our 75g into the wall I'll see if I ( I mean Teri ) can find the pics. Anyhow here are some pics of our stand as it was being built. our tank pics page

| Contributing Member ![]() | Here's a link to my thread on the stand for my 120 gal. It's frame is welded from A500 steel. We are in the process of attaching the wood, and I will post updated pictures as soon as I have them. I will get the materials list, and post those as well. My Stand and Hood project

| Neon dottyback | stand pics Like The Master "Mr. DIY" I am not one for lists etc but I usually draw out my ideas before I hit the table saw. Some day I will achieve diy master status and be able to go direct to saw. My stand is made from 5/4 pine for the frame and structural parts. The legs are glued double 5/4. The stand is totally biscuited w/o any hardware or fasteners except the hinges/ starfish knobs not in the pic. It houses a Diy acrylic L shaped sump that was put in from the bottom before the tank was put on top. It fills all of the space under the stand except where the gen-x sits to power my diy beckett skimmer. The sides of the tank and door panels are 1/8 thick pine boards that I had left over from resawing another project. It was a great project. the first large piece of furniture that I designed by myself. pics to follow TP ![]() Last edited by tommyp : 12-17-2003 at 07:19 PM. |

| Star Polyps | Thats ok, Chris. Your just lucky you have a TB avatar.... Even though I'm a Pats fan, I've liked Tampa for a long time. Years ago Teri and I joked about moving south, to Tampa, it was one of those long ccccccoold winters. Ever since then I've kept an eye on them. Last year I was the only one in Teri's pool that picked Tampa to go all the way. ![]()

| Neon dottyback | Thanks Don Yeah thanks, I am using the curved leg design on the stand on a cherry/tile kitchen table that I am making right now. I love snow days! I think it is going to be a motif of my future designs. The only thing that i am scared of is that the stand is realitively tall and so is my tank so it tend to be a little tippy. My hood though is very ghetto and due for a revamp. Already frag trading mushrooms from you guys!!! thanks ![]() ![]() TP |

| Star Polyps | Is the back of the tank going to be against a wall? If so find a stud in the wall and mount a strap from the the stand to the stud in the wall, the higher on the stand the better. But you probably already knew that ![]()
