Hmmm ... we can probably do pics and a rough materials list, but instructions, well, none written down.

More to come....

Here are some skimmer pics, I had a lot of help from an old friend on this one, but it can be done by anyone who's into diy. If anyone needs more info or help building one let me know I'd be glad to help.

I'm terrible at taking notes and drawing diagrams and making materials lists, most of my work is in my head... Somewhere.

Modified CPR SR-9 Skimmer

I removed the 3/4" inlet tube and replaced with a 1" PVC Schedule 80 pipe. I then installed an Eductor on the inlet tube, to get a lot of bubbles in the system. I put a 3/4" valve on top of my Eductor to be able to controll the amount of air flow into the skimmer. Then take the out flow tube and on top of the "T" cap it. run your outflow tube the way that you want. Then drill a 3/16" hole in the cap and the tube. Install a small air valve, so that you can regulate the amount of suction that the out flow tube has on the skimmer. This will help you later to regulate the water heigth in the skimmer.
Hook up an RIO 3100 to the inlet side of the skimmer.
Turn it on and adjust.

Here are some pics of the modified Skimmer:

Here is the location of another thread that has better pictures:
diy Mixing eductor-driven fractionation They are towards the bottom of the page.

Here is my design for a venturi, total cost is about 40 with power head. The hard part is finding acrylic is small quantities.
