250 MH or 400 MH's??????

What would you run on a 75 gallon tank. with a distance to substrate, from lights: 29"
2 400 watt MH or 2 250 watt MH?

The lights will be 12" from the water surface. I can install as many fans as I need. The canopy is 72"x 24"x 12" tall. There is a 24" section that houses a cabinet on the side, and the whole back is open. I also have a Airconditioner in a window that is right beside the tank, that I can run a duct work from to cool the hood, in the summer. The tank is a 48"x 18"x 18" tank AGA Reef ready.
SPS, LPS, Clams, a few softies. No I have no room for a chiller.
Thanks for all your help, I just want to set up this one once and be able to keep anything, as far as the light end goes.
Thanks, Troy

Pro- off subject but what other equip do you plan to use in this setup? I only want to keep SPS and Clams in this tank. I am planning on

Aqua C EV180 or Euro-reef CS6-2 Skimmer
Korallin 1502 Calc reactor
Aquamedic Titan 150 chiller
Also getting a Berlin style sump and making a DIY refugium

Hey Pro I'm running a 75 with a PFO canopy system 2x250 and 2x110VHO about 12" from the water surface. there really isn't anything I can not keep. but if I was to do it all over again I would have gone with the 400s

If you don't plan on a chiller and are goin with 10k or lower, definitely go 250's. 400's add so much more heat. I also have noticed that double ended MH is not worth the price and heat, IMO single enders are much more economical and less a need for chiller. There was an article in advance aquarist, that tested a 175w SE to a 150w DE 10k, and the DE is hardly any better, but DE also should be further off the water (cause of the heat). In that case the results came out the same, but still keep in mind the DE was 25w less. But still I would stick to mogul end lamps.
