Thanks for the complements

You can get the fixtures at home depot, I picked some up for like 11 dollars they do come with a cheap reflector, so I took some more of those polished aluminim sheets I had lying around from the old days, and cut them so they get a snug fit in the housing. After that I drilled a few holes in the housing, to put the bolts for to keep the base in tightly, and messed around with it a little bit, and got the bulb in there safetly.

The first day after setup, water or something splashed on the glass and it all shattered, but luckily stayed in place, my first reaction was oh s***, but lucks been good from there on, no wrasses jumping and spashing big enough to break it.

It is actually some kind of blue sponge growing around a montipora, found it at my LFS. Got it all for the price of the montipora!

With the ex-current siphon holes being shaped like they are I figured they were a species of tunicate....more highly developed than a sponge. Either way their gorgeous!

Does anyone have a good picture of thier hood.
I am looking for a good diagram of M/H and PC's with the PC's hanging from the Parabolic Reflector's. Something like this one:
http://www.hogben.org/gallery.php?gallery=reef_tank

Here's a recent shot I took when switching a PC to T5's.

Okay, I've got two years of marine bio under my belt and thats it. So I'm not an expert by any means. To make matters worse, I never really found sponges/tunicates to be all that interesting to me at the time, so I really didnt spend alot of attention to the minute details.....
Went and grabbed a book, and looked up the differences between the two....looks like I was wrong after all. Brief sysnopsis from Natural Reef Aquariums by John Tullock, pg 93....Tunicates "are beautiful animals, usually colorful and quit delicate looking, appearing to be constructed of translucent glass. Larger tunicates, about the size of a grape or a marble, can clearly be seen to possess a pair of body openings, side by side. Water is drawn into one of these, the food material is strained out, and the water is expelled through the other opening." Based on that, I'd say ya got sponges.

Steve Tyree has just joined the board as a member, ya might wanna PM or email him as he knows alot more about these then I do.
But I still think they look good,
Nick
