| Tubeworm | 75 gal tanks hood--weight question Hi everyone, I'm building a hood for my 75 gal. It weighs about 30 pounds. Made from 5/8" and some 3/4" plywood (what I had on hand). It is probably going to be temporary until my wife tells me what kind of wood she wants it and the stand cover made from. I guess you can say that this is an experiment of sorts. Will 30 pounds (plus the weight of the lighting fixtures--guessing 35-40 pounds) be ok on top of the tank? Is there a general rule of thumb for the weight of a hood? Thanks, Rob |

| Rabid Wolverine Reefer ![]() | Re: 75 gal tanks hood--weight question 30lbs isnt that bad due to the weight being spread over a larger footprint.
