I finally finished my canopy

I've been busy lately!! Attached is a pic of my new canopy. I happy to finally be finished with it. I will also be painting the stand and aquarium trim the same color. The canopy was made from pine 1x4 and the doors were made from 3/4" plywood. I've never painted wood with a brush but was VERY pleased with the finish of the paint.

Dual 250 hqi's along with 2x110 actinic vho's are mounted in it. I also mounted a total of 5 120mm computer fans for ventilation. Three of the fans are equipped with blue LED's for night lights...pretty cool!

Thanks and God bless,
Chris

That looks really good. I like all the room up in the canopy, good for air flow and room to work in there....Cant wait to see the stand.

Very nice work, Chris.. the paint looks very smooth.

I ALSO like your old-school rocking horse in the background. I had one that look just like that when I was a little girl. I was obsessed with horses and that was my parent's way of subduing the desire.

Re: I finally finished my canopy

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

The canopy is 25" tall and is open top. I wanted to make sure I didn't have to have a chiller.

There was an awful lot of light spillage from the pendants prior to adding the canopy. Now everything looks so much brighter and colorful since you don't have too look at the bulbs when viewing the tank.

The rocking horse is a favorite around the house. My 2 year old rides her hard and puts her up wet but the little pony hangs in there.

God bless,
Chris
