Re: DIY:Fish Closet in an Apartment

now this is an extremely cheap upgrade about $12 for 4 shelfs for those of you who are like me and already have some tools it takes almost no knowledge. the brackets u can pick up 2 for about a dollar if you have drywall walls(which u probably do) then you will want to get hollow wall anchors(about $4 for 18) these just hammer right in i chose a 2x6 peice of lumber(make sure the wood is nice n straight before you buy it this was about $3) for the two shelves i used 21" long slats...make sure you have a level with you because nothing sucks more then having shelves uneven....

Re: DIY:Fish Closet in an Apartment

make sure you hold the brackets on the wood up against the wall to make sure that they fit nice and flush make your marks for the brackets on the shelf screw in the brackets to your shelf than make your marks on the wall for the holes making sure the shelf is level before you make your marks. Then just drill out the holes making it easier to hammer in the anchors unscrew the screw in the anchor install and magically you have your selfs.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

haha, I slept on the couch last night! Actually it was nice ebcause these last two days we had a 100 F heat wave and the slider is right there wide open with a fan full of cool air unlike the bedroom!

Nice job on the shelves. I did that, but on a mini scale inside of my stand.

Re: DIY:Fish Closet in an Apartment

Great idea! Wish we had an extra closet for a fish closet. Might just have to figure something out.

Re: DIY:Fish Closet in an Apartment

Do you put all that stuff in your tank? That closet is a good idea. If only I had closet space. I just cleaned out the "baby room" so now all my stuff(dvds, cds, posters) are all over the house. I think you've inspired me to do some shelving in the garage.

Re: DIY:Fish Closet in an Apartment

"extra" and "closet space" are mutually exclusive in my house.

Great idea!!

kinda yeah not on a super regular basis but i use iodine and stron every once and a while and mag i use quite often as well as the calc of course...i used to work at a lfs so i have some "xtra" stuff that was just lyn' around that i use everyonce and a while if my alk gets low i dose a little bit of nano-reef a and b and it boosts it right up while keeping everything else nicely up there as well.
