Re: DIY Beckett Skimmer

What will happen if the air intake valves come off? I would assume it would just drop the foam and flow out to the sump only. Or are you talking about water shooting out of the injector holes?
Yeah, I guess any external pump coming off would be an issue! I would think threaded plumbing for any external plumping would be the way to go. Both my return and chiller are threaded.

I'm in AWE! What a MONSTER! Bring it over here in a few weeks Frankie and we'll hook it up to my system and give it a good work out. My water needs a good, thorough cleaning.

I'm almost following what you and Sas are talking about too. Geez, there might be hope for me yet!

Re: DIY Beckett Skimmer

Awesome job, very well done with more or less everyday tools. The drill press routing was well done....

Hahahaha!

You are a mad man! Way to go, how long did it take you from beginning to end?
That's impressive, you should think about building those on the side and selling them. You'll get faster after a few. Wow! Good job Frankie.

If i started in the morning i could build one in a day. Thanks everyone. Not to sure if everone has a 15" drill press in there garage but yep not much tools needed. the jointer was a major plus.
Soon Sas, Its a $300 pump i will run for a short time until i get the new tank. trying to watch the budget.

Re: DIY Beckett Skimmer

That will work Warren. Attach a 3/4" plywood board to it. It will give you a work area.

Re: DIY Beckett Skimmer

Yep! Already got one Frankie. I also have one of those drill press vices to clamp things down. I'm in the middle of moving but I do have some really cool corner vices. I cut out four X's on the plywood with my jigsaw and they can be moved in toward the center. When I get moved I'll post a pic of it.

Jason, What you laughing at?
