You know these things used to be at all the retail stores but they sort of vanished. Now they are almost an "eBay Exclusive". What sucks is the S/H is MORE than the actual price of the item. Tell me they aren't making $$ of of S/H. Trust me.. I do enough shipping to know they are "double dipping" here. Can I say that in a family forum? Double dipping?

I'm off on the local forums trying to find someone that has ONE of those Mini-Ice Cube tray. Surely someone has one they are willing to sell me for LESS than everything would cost on Ebay and I can make some "Mush" soon.

Julie and I were out shopping this evening and found a "micro-cube" tray at Kmart in the "Martha Stewart" collection.

Nice find!

Also, with regards to making the homemade mush, adding gellatin (or using more shrimp) will thicken the texture up a lot and help keep it together when feeding. Just be careful not to use too much gellatin or you'll end up with brick like chunks that only the largest fish can tear apart.

I've read where gellatin really stinks up a house though. Have you used it in your mix?

No, I've never used it. It can't stink as bad as pureed shrimp. YUCK!

Gelatin is extracted from the collagen inside animals (mostly cows) connective tissue. When you first pour hot water on it to melt it down, its not the best thing I have ever smelled, but it aint that bad, not enough to stink up the house though.

I don't use it in my food either, just don't see the need with good circulation and a good clean up crew.
