| Fire Coral ![]() | I'm about to start my new sump. Dimensions are 34X16X15 I am using 3/8 cast acrylic. My big problem is I have to build the sump in the stand as the openings are too small to get the sump in after it is built. I would say 3/8 is more than enough. If you were to go with 1/2 the price will go up quite a bit. too bad were are not closer we could have split a sheet of Acrylic. The coral farm "Ocean Aquatics" (oceanaquartics.com) uses 1/4" acrylic for their 6foot tanks. Now they frame it with 2x4s but I mention it just to make a point. I think 1/2 you will find harder to work with. Good luck and post pics when your finished J

| Reef Lobster ![]() | Thanks, I am thinking of coming down in thickness now, especially since I have already asked for a quote. I wish I had a router with the proper blade but instead, I am just going to have to get them to cut it for me. Very informative thread, thanks to everyone! Take er easy Scott T.
