| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: Sock Filter? You betcha. They work GREAT at removing particulates from your water. You will need several replacement socks however, as they plug fairly quickly, and if not changed frequently, will become nitrate factories. IIRC, I had 6-7 spares for mine, so I didn't have to wash them every couple of days. I took them outside, rinsed them well with the garden hose, then into the washing machine with just a bit of bleach, double rinsed them, then IF they needed it, (your nose will tell you) another rinse with a strong de-chlorinator solution, and out into the sun to dry... With several spares, I'd soak them in a bucket of mild bleach & RO water until I was ready to wash them...about every 2-3 weeks...

| Elegance coral | Re: Sock Filter? that made me picture the commercial for the athletes fin spray. picture some sad droppy fish: "itchy fins got you down? does it feel like a condylactis is stinging you all day long? try Finex, the fastest working athletes fin spray on the market. Those itchy burning fins will be a thing of the past. Finex! (warning finex may contain copper, not safe for use around firefin clowns, fire gobies, flame angels, flameback angels, flame cardinals, or anything else that sounds like it belongs in a mexican entree)" ![]()
