180 gallon Reef, 3- 250 XM 15K MH Electronic ballast, 380 watts VHO Actinics, 2- 5 watt LED Moon lights, 100 gal rubbermaid sump, 75 gallon Fuge, ETSS 600 Skimmer, 4700-5400 gph pump for return, Octopus 3000 controller, Iwaki 40 RL skimmer pump, 2- 65w PC 10K fuge lights, 2 55 gallon barrels, Custom light oak stand and hood, misc pumps, extra 600 gallon rated tank size protein skimmer.
Purple tang, yellow tang, pacific blue tang, 2 green chromis, 1 Sand sifting star, snails, hermit crabs, 2 mated perculas, pulsing Xenia, Anenome, mushrooms, ricordia, zoanthids, kenya tree 1 1/2" tall, misc other hitchhiker stuff.
DIY is my dream... ...well OK the only way I can afford this Addiction!!
Just as the light goes on in my head... ... I break the bulb!!

Ussualy if it was done well the compound they use to seal it acctually "melts" the two peices of acrylic together. It would be hard to get a clean cut and seperate the joint I imagine. What is it exactly you are trying to do and why is it completely sealed? If it is some kind of sump you probably want to cut out the top anyways.

I build a replica of Frankie's skimmer but have issues that need bulkheads install in the bottom portion of the main box and it is completely melted together so i have to do something from the outside just not sure what my options are. Everything is working ok right now but I have some small leaks that i have to deal with.
i have a 1/2 inch drain that i installed in the very bottom section and a 2" drain in the upper section that i have to be sure are water tight. 1/2 inch is pvc 2
" is abs. any thouhgts???

I have a pm into Fankie because i know he had to install a drain as well just wondering how he did it. I would hate to have to cut this thing open

Yeah I imagine frankie would probably be more help because he's more familiar with the skimmer design. Would hate to see you have to cut it all up after trying to make it look clean.

ya it was a lot of work to put this together but well worth it there must be some kind of goop out there that will seal from the outside. we put en on the mon all the time lol
