Re: DIY sump and overflow... but really really badly.

all 3 of our LFS are big chain stores. also, the town i live in is populated by really stupid people. this is the kind of town that they dont release new movies in the save money. anyways, the LFS carry mostly freshwater stuff, and dont even sell sumps, overflows, or anything like that. i was surprised they had protein skimmers here. in fact, of the 3 stores, only one of them has knowledgable employees, and even they have been giving me wrong info (yeah just toss teh snails in, you dont need to acclimate them). also they happen to work at the more expensive of teh 3 stores.

my lifeline out of this tech dry city is the net. its the only way i can meet people who aspire to do more than lay bricks all week and get drunk on weekends. (no offence if thats what you do lol)

I am literally crying with laughter.
You know you have a problem when you go to walmart and everything looks like it could be part of your fish tank.

Re: DIY sump and overflow... but really really badly.

I wish I had some overflow boxes laying around still. I would have sent you one just based on this thread

Although I must say, laying bricks and getting drunk on the weekends actually sounds tempting some weeks....

LOL. Love the way this thread evolved.
I have to agree with the online method of buying drygoods. We have several good RS sponsors who can help you out as well. Check into them, you can usually get a much better price for this type of thing online than at the lfs.
