| Tunicate | bow front canopy Does anyone have drawings or plans for a 72gal bowfront canopy? i would like to build one, but dont know where to start.

| DIY Moderator | Re: bow front canopy 1: Take your over all measurement for width. 2: measure the width of your tank on both ends. 3: measure the width in the center of the tank. 4: this will tell you the amount of bow that you have to make in the hood, since it will be a perfect bow from end to end. 5: Make a template from wood that has the bow of the front of your tank. 6: then make the front panel bow to the template that you made. | The CodFather ~ | Re: bow front canopy ...or you can take a large piece of stiff cardboard, such as corobuff, and set it on top of the tank then trace its outline with a fine point sharpie. With this template you can make a basic frame out of wood or aluminum and then 'skin' it with a thin sheet of veneer plywood if you plan to stain or a lesser grade (birch)if you plan to paint.
