Question sump size ???

I turned my 15gal wet dry/trickle filter into a basic refugium. The skimmer is on the supply side, sump in center, pump on return, remaining space is approx 7" to 8" L x 9 7/8"w x 6"h for sump,to supply the 55gal. I have no choice in the matter i'm strapped for space. Will this work???

Re: sump size ???

I don't see why it wouldn't work, all a sump really does is extra water volume, more skimming capacity, and place to put extra live rock or a refugium. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I had a 10 gal. sump on my 60 at one point

Matt

Re: sump size ???

Any size sump will work it's just the bigger the better.
We had a 10g once on our 46. And only have a 15g sump with a 5g fuge on our 75.
