| Reef Lobster | Re: DIY Refugiums not many people here, i think, but if you go to www.nano-reef.com there are loads of guides to modding an aquaclear filter into a fuge. great stuff. you can also check out www.melevsreef.com he goes into refugiums quite a bit, and made at least one hang on back.

| Bryozoan | Re: DIY Refugiums got an Aquaclear 110 power filter hanging off a hospital tank functioning as a refugium right now. Not bad as a instant refugium for $45. It is almost 14" long and supposed to pump 500gph. Filled with crushed coral, live rock rubble, & chaetomorpha. A spare 15 watt fluorescent just sits on top. Got the idea after crusing wetwebmedia.com and searching on the word "refugium". Turns out this Aquaclear model is popular for this. Also purchased a DIY refugium kit from eBay for $35, 12" X18" x 4". Basically pre-cut pieces of acrylic and they provide with acrylic glue. A trick to put together but functional. If you're interested is this one I can point you to it. axl |
