IceCap HQI Ballast????

I am thinking about buying a 250w IceCap Ballast and my questions is do I need to purchase the heatsink and ballast box? Also, is the IceCap ballast a good choice?

Thank you all in advance for all your help.....

Re: IceCap HQI Ballast????

Not sure about the Metal halide ballasts, but the IceCap fluorescent ballasts come complete with the heatsink...SHOULDN'T be a separate purchase item.

Re: IceCap HQI Ballast????

TBH, my buddy runs his without the heat sink. The hqi ballast is noticably smaller and lighter than the 660 vho ballast. I don't know if they recomend it or not, I would use the heatsink if they recomend it in the instructions or require it for warranty purposes. I'm not quite sure what the ballast box is though...
