| Manta Ray | ASM G-3 skimmer anyone running one at 12" sump water level hey how goes it. i am building a new sump. the attachment shows how i am thinking of doing it. what i am not sure about is the sump water level for this skimmer. i have used it in the past but always at about 9" sump water level. i want to put it in 12" sump water level. so i can have the option of adding a remote DSB. for now just going with some LR and marco. anyone ever try the ASM G-3 skimmer in a sump with a 12" water level?? |

| Manta Ray | Re: ASM G-3 skimmer anyone running one at 12" sump water level i had a leak with my plumbing coming out of the bulkhead. fixed that but had to wait a few more days for drying. its just saltwater now. getting the ph settled. the skimmer is running better than ever. i think better than when it was at 9". lots of nice foam. will have to wait to see how it goes with a full bio load. i think it would work with no problems in 14"-15" of water. but, in 12" of water, works just as good if not better than it did in 9" of water. |

| Manta Ray | Re: ASM G-3 skimmer anyone running one at 12" sump water level just an update on the skimmer water level. i added rock and more sand which raised the water level in the sump to over 15".(letting evaporation work and raise the salinity a little) the skimmer works great at that level. after seeing it work in 15 1/2" water level i think you can put it in water all the way up to neck. maybe even right up to the neck of the collection cup, where it twist on. and to think i was worried about 12". no issues with sucking in air at 15 1/2". |
