what will your complete system water capacity be?
If it is 100 gallon I would run at least a Mag 9 or so. But, you may want to ask someone else.

I wouldln't make the single tank SPS. If the Softies in hte other tanks get mad and start Chemical warfare, then it will flow into your SPS tank. That wouldn't be good, I don't think, but check with others.
No problem, as far as me helping out, That is what I am here for.

Well I am going to have to trash that idea. The room I have to work with is small 65"x59x65x59. I need to have room to work around the tanks. I am now thinking of going with 2 4ft tanks on each side and something on the back wall where the single tank was going to be. I am going to try and sketch something out

You are in good hands with Troy, if you need any ideas about linking tanks or drains together you can see what we've done here. http://home.comcast.net/~76fxe

We use whats called a stock tank for our sump and another one for our fuge ( you can find them at any Agway or a feed and grain store) they are made to be put in a field so cows or horses or whatever can drink from them, they are very rugged and come with a bulkhead fitting already, so connecting your pump to it will be easy. They also come in different sizes, we use a 100g for our sump and a 70g for our fuge hth.

Thanks Don, I plan on using one of those for my sump. Thanks

Troy, I am trying to spend less money on lighting so I don't really want to stack the tanks. I may go with a simple 3 tank system. 2 4ft tanks and 20g long in the middle. I'll have the returns on the ends of the 4 footers and the outlets back to the sump on the 20g in the middle. This should give me good flow. The tanks will be bare bottom. AH decsions, decsions

What are you wanting for lighting?
I can help you out there too.
That should work. If you want a drawing just let me know.

Not sure on the lighting now with 4ft tanks. I may need 2 MH's per tank and 1 on the single tank. I only wanted to run 3 MH. What do you think? I want to do alot of SPS,zoos, ricordea

How about 3 40g breeders, spider reflectors claim they can light a 3' width with one reflector, that would give you 120g on three bulbs.

Or you caould go with Parabolic reflectors, and run the softies on the outside ends of the tanks. JMO
