| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | I used aquarium silicone, 100% silicone with no fungicides or herbicides will do the trick. Three compartments will be OK and you want your water level at about 60% of the tank capacity. Set your acrylic panels so that they would hold 12 gallons of water so you have plenty of freeboard. ![]()

| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | I am assuming the first chamber will be your intake/feed from the display tank nd hold your skimmer. The water will then flow into the second chamer which will house your refugium. The two refugium panels should be the same height. Your next piece of acrylic should be raised off the tank bottom about an inch and be about 2-3 inches from the last refugium panel. This will help dissipate any micro bubbles and give you a slot to drop a bag of carbon if you need. In addition, this will allow detritus to collect in the return pump chamber and will be easily vacuumed away if you don'y put LR or sand in wth your return. I highly discourage any sand in the return chamber for the obvious negative effect on your pump, ouch! ![]()
