| Torch coral | Plate coral I have a purple plate coral and a neon orange plate that I just got. I was looking to see if you can frag these once they get big, but since I live with a girl who would never let me cut them up I was wondering has anyone had them split on there own???

| Torch coral | Re: Plate coral Fungia reproduce aesexually by means of a structure known as an anthocauli. It looks like a lump of cauliflower and babies will bud off of them. Anthocauli production can be stimulated by stressing the coral such as partially shading it, or by damage caused by a sting. As the coral heals from the damage the anthocauli forms. Conventional fragging works but it takes a very long time for the mother colony and the frags to grow back into the round shape. John
