| Do I look as lost as I am ![]() | I read a while back that someone was using pieces of ceramic tile for fragging disks. Not whole tiles but like the small decorative ones that come on a sheet of matting already spaced and ready for grouting. They are of different sizes and stuff and look like that would make awesome frag plugs. Anyone ever use or heard of this? I live WAY up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and fragging supplies are few and far between (as with just about ANYTHING SW related) and every time I order something I always forget about plugs, fragging supplies and hinged legs for My coralife light fixture. I thought about (read about) Golf Tees as well. Anyone using these? If so wooden, plastic etc? ? ? I don't have any LR Rubble and the LFS is willing to sell me some from his recent rock shipment but it's ALSO $13.99 lb.. don't get me wrong it wouldn't take much but it's PRINCIPLE! I don't want to pay that for RUBBLE!!! I'm open to ideas and suggestions here gang ![]() Allen

| Reef Lobster | Re: Fragging Ideas/supplies Well, I personally just take pieces of old dead rock, and smash it with a hammer whatever pieces look nice i rub the edges together in water to smooth them out, and viola, free frag pieces. I have heard of the golf tee idea, though I would avoid the wood, as it's going to rot over time, and you certainly want whatever coral your fragging to have a solid base. I would say go with the plastic if anything! Just remember the rubble doesn't have to be live to glue frags to it... ceramic and golf tees sure as heck aren't live ![]() |

If not I'll go to the local big blue (Lowes) and pick up some ceramic tile sheets and see how that works. That's unless we can come up with a reason to NOT use those (chemicals etc etc). In that case it's black plastic golf tees. Allen ![]()

| Reef Lobster | Re: Fragging Ideas/supplies I would ask at the LFS to see if he can get some baserock for you. I know that you can purchase it at certian hardware stores (it's intended for other purposes, but its essentially the same thing, and way cheaper) so you may want to look around there too. the reason you mentioned would be the only reason that i'd worry about the ceramic. worst case scenario i'll go pick up some base rock and mail it to ya ![]() |

| Golden Moray | Re: Fragging Ideas/supplies Al I know this is an old thread but I am going to start making some glass ones for myself. If you need some let me know. Some people may not like them as they can't be cropped. Again the upside is that thick they should never degrade or break. Let me know.

| Golden Moray | Re: Fragging Ideas/supplies Tried to get some done tonight, but my daughter brought me home a cold this week from her school, so I just couldn't get anything done. Making some half marble shaped ones for zoo frags. I just think they look better when they come in on something ball shaped. I'll let you know when I got some made up.
