Fragging Acro's

How do you frag an acro?

100 Gal w/ 55 Gal Sump, (2) 250 watt MH's, 220 watts VHO,

Fish: Lawnmower Blenny, Pair Ocellaris Clowns, Royal Gramma, Yellow watchman
Coral: Neon Green Candycane, Brown Candy Cane, Purple and Blue Candycane, GSP-green, Palythoas, Montipora Digita (Green and Purple), Montipora Nodosa, Acro's, Neon Green Favia, Sun Coral, Cynaria
Shrimp: Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, 3 Peppermint Shrimp, Tiger Pistol Shrimp
Clam: (2) Crocea,


That's what I love about saltwater tanks. You get God's best!!

Well, what I've learned from Danny is that you accidently break a finger off then you epoxy it to the live rock, grows like magic (sorry Danny I couldn't resist)

most that are into fragging their sps corals now use bone cutters. They don't rust and if they can cut bone they sure can cut acropora. I use them and wouldn't use anything else. I try to cut the entire branch if at all possible. Not just tips like some do. Then glue down the frag and let her start growing.

I got mine at Dr Foster and Smith. They have 2 lengths, 7 and 9". They run less than $15.00

if you have a small V bit, use that one, turn over the acro and just score lightly on the first pass, then get a little deeper till you have a good deep grove, when it gets to a point (different in every case, but you'll know)you can just break it in two pices...
