Donut budding??

I have a donut coral thats been in my tank for maybe 7 years, yesterday I saw a darkish green ball sitting on the fleshy part, I thought it was a bit of debris, its not, its coming up through the flesh and seems to be attached to the skeleton. Is this a bud,I cant find any pictures of budding in google? Why is it whenever I add something new everything seems to "put on their sunday best" Steve
